Neu Schowe Town Chronicle

The church records of Neu Schowe (Batschka, today Hungary) are probably lost in WWII. Some fragments of information are kept in the town chronicle "Heimatbuch der Gemeinde Schowe", edited by Christian Ludwig Brücker in 1961, and in the tax list "Landeskonskription 1828", Hungarian National Archive, IGI #622966, page 64

5th Generation (after Mattheis) :

Heinrich Riegel, reformed
immigrant from Otzweiler, County of Meisenheim, Palatinate

marr.: Elisabeth Heckel, died 1805 at the age of 58
childr.: Emanuel
Karl

Unfortunately, the names of the children do not match to the Becherbach register. A possible explanation could be that they died in the dysentery epidemic 1785, which took away the lifes of many children among the new settlers. Emanuel and Karl could be born after they left Becherbach.
